View Full Version : Call forwarding fails

We have a Quadro2xi with a ISDN Gateway, just installed, very basic setup. Works fine mostly except for one major issue...I have set up "No Answer Call Forwarding" on all extensions. If no one picks up after 5s then the call should be forwarded to their mobile. Simple in theory and it works when I call from insidethe office into the system i.e. by dialing our offices telephone number. BUT if I call from outside the office (i.e. dialing the same number just from a telephone located externally to the office) then the extension rings for 5s and then the caller gets a "extension you have dialed istemporarily unavailable" message....so call forwarding is basically not working. This is critical to our business. Please help with any suggestions.

If I check call statistics, this is what I see. PSTNGW is our Epygi gateway device. Called phone is listed as PSTN1-4. No idea what the -4 means, it seems like it is trying to dial the number 4 (the forwarding extension is 14. Maybe this has something to do with discarded digits???)

You outbound call rules will be filtered to only allow PBX users to use
them. Duplicate the outbound call rule, set the pattern to the mobile
number you are forwarding to, and set the Inbound Call Type to "Any"
and the Inbound Caller Pattern as *

Thank you THANK YOU very much; took me a while to figure out exactly what you were saying, but it works now and your answer was a life saver (it's now 1:53am and I'm still tinkering away to geteverything ready by the AM:-)
For anyone interested, here is the routing rule output. Note that I dial 0 for an outside line and I want to allow call forwarding to all numbers i.e. 0*. btw I am using an ISDN gateway 192.168.17.8 to route all ISDN traffic. Hope that makes sense...

As an end user trying to configure my own forwarding, I have followed the instructions above precisely (and several variationst thereof) and am still unable to succeed with a Call Forward instruction.
In my instance, I have a Quadro 6L receiving a call through FXO1 to ext 11. I want the call to ring for 10 seconds and then forward to another location through IP-PSTN to a different Quadro 6L and break out at FXO6 and pass the extension number through to an analogue PBX.
The call forward destination internal dailling has all been resolved through the Call Routing Table, and I have specifically added the Call Forward destination to the Routing Table to ensure that the Inbound Call parameters have been set to * and Any.
Could it be that a Call Forward and Call Forward On No Answer is not possible through IP-PSTN?
Any direction would be appreciated.
