Hi,
I've been struggling - but finally with some success to create a VPN with the Quadro 2x.
Firmware 3.1.21 (and it's very stable).
I am just using a PPTP server. Simple XP client (using Win PPTP VPN connection).
It (finally) connects and works. I can connect into my local company
network when dialing in from the outside (internet dialup). All that is
great.
What is weird is that as soon as I VPN in, I can't get to external web
sites nor to externally hosted (ISP) email. This is strange.
I can get to internal company websites, and all outlook and other internal company network resources.
Is there any switch I have to set to be able to get to external sites
(web + mail) as well as having access to internal company resources?
Here are some stats:
Internal network has range of 192.168.1.x (gateway of quadro is
192.168.1.22). BTW, the quadro is acting as the main internet router
(no other router/firewall or anything is in the way of the direct
internet connection - dedicated IP address).
PPTN server address is 172.31.1.x
VPN client connects and gets a 172.31.1.3 address.
Now, what is even more weird is that I can ping web sites (i.e.
yahoo.com) but can't get to it from a browser (no, I'm not using any
proxies).
I have tried a number of different DNS settings in the Win VPN settings - but none seem to help.
Oh, and when I don't connect to the VPN, and just have straight clean
internet access on dialup - all web (external + mail) works fine.
So, any ideas?
I guess it's just a routing thing...but I can't work out the last bits this puzzle.
TIA
