Can someone please explain the phone firmware update process on 4.1.18.

I have setup a new quadro 4x. I plugged in some new snom 320 and snom 360 phones. They are provisioned automatically, then they download firmware 6.5.1 from snom.com automatically. The quadro then says in it's log

Firmware update success for snom320 MAC= 00:04:13:24:7C:9F FW version = 6.5.1

However it is downloading directly from the internet each time. So then I uploaded the snom fireware files onto the quadro usb memory as documented, and they are shown there. It also wont let you upload 6.5.2, saying it is not reccommended for this quadro firmware or something.

However the phones are still downloding the firmware from the internet, rather than the quadro, although the quadro is saying the firmware upgrade is successful.

Version 6.5.1 of Snom firmware is recommended with Quadro 4.1.18, that is the reason you have your phone image downgraded. If you want to use the 6.5.2 or 6.5.8, you need to disable the firmware control mechanism (on IP Lines Settings) checkbox at the bottom. Then you can put the 6.5.2 on the USB, but you will need to manually upgrade Snom firmware from the phone GUI (poinitng to the Quadro as configuration server). Please use only a complete http URL (like http://<QuadroLanIP>/ipeco ("http://[url) nfig/snomXXX-YYY.bin[/url]).
