Hello Forum, I am looking at setting up a VPN using a quadro. My quadro is behind an IPSs router/NAT. The other sites are not quadros, but an assortment of LinuxPC, WindowsPC and routers. I saw the two whitepapers on VPN with Cisco router and using other quadros, but nothing that matches what I want to do. The ISP is providing us with a static external IP. The remotes may be static or road-warrior types. Does anyone know of any howto's, or have experience that match my scenario?
Thanks, PdP

Hi Paul!
What you mean by saying "The ISP is providing us with a static external IP"? Is it a "real IP" that is forwarded directly to you, or do you mean that the external IP of your provider is static?

Hello, mikyes
Fwiw, I meant that the quadro's IP is not assigned by dchp, and the quadro' s IP is not a private IP (translated by firewall/NAT) - it is a public IP, directly reachable.

Hi Paul!
OK, very nice... So, you can setup VPNs in many different scenarios. :)
For example in case of a Linux PC you can use FreeSWan IPSec or one of
it's successors (OpenSwan or StrongSwan) on the other side. The
settings are quite intuitive and the terms are similar. ;)
In case of setting up a VPN with a Windows PC (which is a bit more
sophisticated) you'd better look through the document (which will be
avalible on Epygi home page soon), but I can send it to you by email,
if you give me your email address (I cannot send an attachment using
the mail-sending of this site).
