In my Version 5.1.30 system, we support various phones, including Polycom, Aastra,
SNOM, and various softphones.

I recently had two Polycom 301's re-flashed by a distributor and when I put them
back on the system with TYPE=POLYCOM 300, I cannot dial. Also, the 2nd line of
the display shows the right-most 5-6 characters of the extension's display name.

So, I changed the TYPE=POLYCOM 331 and rebooted the phone. A few minutes
later I was able to make outgoing calls.

But the 2nd line of the display is still showing the last 5-6 characters of the
extension's display name.

Does anyone know the correct "TYPE" for this device ?

Thanks

Mike

In general you should choose Polycom 300, as the configuration for 300 and 301 model should be the same. For now selecting 331 should also do the job, but in the future Polycom might add new parameters for new phone models, that will not be supported on the old ones.
Regarding display name - this is the way Polycom phone cut long display names. F.e. on 331 - it shows first 8 symbols. I'm not sure about 301 model, and I'm an-aware of any configuration parameter that can change this behavior.
