Whats the best procedure for downloading logs for troubleshooting. I recently sent developer logs to Epygi for troubleshooting. I marked the logs when I began them and when I ended them. However I was told that the call history didn't survive in the log. Is there a time limit on the logging? ( i.e. does it log all information for say an hour and then wipe it and start again?) Should I download logs every 1 to 2 hours until I capture the problem? Part of the issue is that it is an intermitant problem and we have so far been unable to replicate it on demand. What information do I need to send along with the logs? Call times, numbers?

Those are good questions, Aaron...

Actually the logs are cyclic. Quadro keeps as much logs as it can, so the old logs are not erased - they are overwritten by new ones constantly. If there is no activity, thet old logs will be kept for ages, but if the unit is very busy, the logs can survive for half-an-hour only, or sometimes even less... Different log files are filling up with different speed, so some log files keep older information, some - just very recent one. The only static part there is the size of the log.

No about the best procedure to download the logs. If the problem is intermitent, and you cannot reproduce it on demand, you need to inform everybody, so as soon as the problem happens, somebody connects to the device and get the logs. The sooner, the better. If this is done in a half-an-hour, in most cases logs with contain the problem info.

Ideally you would provide with the logs some information on the call: the approximate start time, the approximate duration, and most importnatly - the caller and called numbers!! And of course - the description of the problem! :)
